Which Secondary Schools Did the CEOs of Australia's Top 70 Companies Attend?

2025-10-17

Analysis of educational backgrounds reveals interesting patterns about school choice and career success in Australia.

We have spoken with some parents, and many of them believe that choosing a school is also about choosing a social network.

We won't comment on that view, but Australian media recently published a list showing which day schools the CEOs of 70 top companies attended. You may find some interesting information in this list.

Victorian Schools on the List

Looking only at the state of Victoria, the CEOs on the list attended the following day schools:

  • Yarra Valley Grammar School
  • Xavier College
  • Scotch College
  • Brighton Secondary College
  • Melbourne High School
  • Cathedral College
  • St Joseph's College
  • Christian Brothers' College
  • Western Heights College
  • Wesley College

Key Finding: Private Education Background

After analyzing the backgrounds of all 70 CEOs, the report found that 55% have a private school education.

While a private education can certainly offer some advantages, it is by no means a guarantee of success.
