Stage 01 · Before you join

Start with the right course

We get to know your goals, assess your current level and help you choose a suitable learning pathway.

Step 01—04

Step 01

Free Academic Consultation

Meet with an experienced Australian education advisor to discuss your child’s academic situation, current challenges and longer-term goals. The consultation goes beyond recommending a tutoring class.

What we support

  • Personalised study plans, subject selection and VCE pathway guidance.
  • Advice on school transitions, scholarship and selective-school entry preparation.
  • Discussion of university or overseas-study pathways, extracurricular activities and academic competitions.

Start with a conversation

Step 02

Academic Assessment

Before choosing a class, we review the student’s existing knowledge, confidence and areas that need more attention. The assessment provides a clearer starting point for a suitable course and pace.

What we support

  • Testing and assessment help identify strengths and learning gaps.
  • Placement recommendations take account of the student’s current level and learning goals.

Find the right starting point

Step 03

Course & Class Recommendation

Our team explains the recommended course and class level so families can decide with a clear understanding of what their child will be studying and why.

What we support

  • Compare subject choices, Standard/Advanced or other available class pathways.
  • Review current timetable, teaching format and campus options.
  • Confirm the course and class before moving to enrolment.

Choose with confidence

Step 04

Payment, Refund Policy & Student Profile

Once the course is confirmed, we guide families through the enrolment and payment process and create the student profile used to support their learning journey.

What we support

  • Go through fees, enrolment information and the current Unconditional Refund Policy terms.
  • Complete student details and set up the academic profile.
  • Receive guidance on the next steps before classes begin.

Complete your enrolment

Stage 02 · Before your first class

Everything in place before class

Meet your support team, access your learning platform and prepare the resources you need.

Step 05—07

Step 05

Class Group & Academic Coordinator

Support does not stop at registration. Every student is assigned a dedicated Academic Coordinator who helps connect lessons, homework and day-to-day arrangements, and group-class students also join a class communication channel.

What we support

  • Class communication through WhatsApp, WeChat or Discord, as appropriate.
  • Help with absence requests, make-up lessons, timetable changes and class transfers.
  • Homework follow-up and study-planning support throughout the course.

Know who to contact

Step 06

Homework System Access

Once your My Austin account is ready, weekly work, lesson resources and follow-up revision are connected in one place. Students can find the next task without losing track of what happened in class.

What we support

  • Open the learning dashboard to check homework, due tasks and class information.
  • Complete subject-specific multiple choice, short-answer, fill-in-the-blank or extended writing tasks.
  • Review results, lesson summaries, available recordings and automatic Error Book entries.

Step 07

Course Materials

Before their first lesson, students receive the learning materials needed for their course so that classroom explanations and independent practice follow the same learning plan.

What we support

  • Collect the relevant Austin textbooks, workbooks and course resources.
  • Understand which materials are used in class and which are for practice at home.
  • Be ready to follow the weekly lesson and homework sequence.

Be ready to learn

Every student has a dedicated Academic Coordinator; class communication groups apply to group classes, and arrangements vary by programme.

Inside the My Austin platform

More than homework: one connected learning system

My Austin connects what happens in class with what students do between lessons. From weekly assignments and lesson recordings to automatic mistake reviews and progress reporting, students can see what to complete, what they have learned and what to practise next.

  • Online homework
  • Automatic Error Book
  • Progress reports

How the learning cycle works

The online platform is designed to support the lesson, not replace the teacher.

  1. 01 · Learn

Understand the key concepts in class.

  2. 02 · Practise

Complete assigned homework in My Austin.

  3. 03 · Review

Check feedback, progress and recorded explanations.

  4. 04 · Improve

Revisit incorrect questions and target weak topics.

Screenshots show the My Austin interface with sample data. Specific assignments and resources depend on the student’s course.

Stage 03 · Throughout the course

Learn, practise and track progress

Structured lessons, assessments and reviews help students know what to work on next.

Step 08—10

Step 08

Classes & Weekly Practice

Each lesson is reinforced through practice, review and feedback. My Austin helps students continue learning between classes instead of treating homework as a separate activity.

What we support

  • Follow a subject-specific teaching plan across the four Victorian school terms.
  • Complete online practice tasks designed for different skills and question formats.
  • Revisit class explanations using lesson summaries and available recordings.
  • Use mistakes and assigned follow-up practice to strengthen difficult topics.

Build a steady routine

Step 09

Assessments & Progress Feedback

Assessment results are most useful when they guide the next step. Alongside term assessments and parent communication, My Austin makes homework progress, achievements and recurring mistakes easier to review.

What we support

  • See completed activities, achievement milestones and progress reports.
  • Review recurring errors by topic, question type and frequency in the Error Book.
  • Combine platform insights with teacher feedback, academic reports and parent meetings.

See what has improved

Step 10

Holiday Learning

Holiday programmes provide extra time to strengthen recent learning, practise difficult topics and get ready for the next part of the course.

What we support

  • Consolidate key concepts from the term rather than relying on last-minute revision.
  • Access relevant revision sessions or holiday classes where offered.

Make holidays count

Stage 04 · Beyond each term

Support that keeps moving forward

As progress and goals change, we review the student’s learning journey and plan the next steps.

Step 11—12

Step 11

Student Profile Updates

The student profile is informed by ongoing learning, not just the first placement test. Homework completion, common mistakes and assessment outcomes can help guide later conversations about support and class level.

What we support

  • Review changes in knowledge gaps and practice performance.
  • Use progress information alongside teacher observations for future planning.

Keep your plan relevant

Step 12

Follow-Up & Next-Step Planning

At key points in the student journey, our team reviews progress with families and helps plan the next stage of learning.

What we support

  • Discuss progress, remaining difficulties and changes in learning goals.
  • Review suitable next-term or next-year course options.
  • Keep the student’s learning pathway connected beyond the current class.

Plan what comes next
